Beginning the Journey
We support what we value. We tend to what we love. Before we begin new ministries, thinking about the future of our church invites us to name all that we love and value about the people, the buildings we maintain, our neighborhoods, and the larger communities we live within.
Once we have thought as individuals about what we love about our church, we should have larger, structured conversations with other members. A Transformational Discipleship workshop can help us discern the intersection of our gifts and the world’s need.
- What are our gifts?
- What does the world need?
- And, how do we go forward from there if our finances are flagging and/or our congregation is aging?
- The most fruitful conversations are possible when we speak with love, candor, and humility.
