Lab & Greenhouse churches can be experimental, niche, or transitional spaces for new expressions.

Wesleyan Mission: To provide a ‘nursery for the soul’ where new methods of ministry can take root and flourish, experimenting with fresh expressions of faith to ensure that the Spirit’s work of sanctification is never stagnant, but always moving toward perfection.

Setting: Near mid-tier state universities or community colleges.

Possible Strategy: Innovation and leadership development. The church acts as a lab for new ministry techniques, digital outreach, and training bi-vocational leaders– perhaps for covenant groups. It is high-energy and experimental.

Success Metric: Leadership Export. Your success is measured by how many young leaders you train and export to (re)plant new Reservoir or Civic Center communities.

Possible Growth Area: Targeting students who are first-generation college students or attending vocational schools. They are looking for a community that validates their upward mobility while providing a stable, moral compass.
